Race for the Cure
There were 73 students ............... including staff from Englewood High School that had attended Komens’ “Women for the cure.” It was a charitable event that was sponsored National Honor Society that many had enjoyed. The National Honor Society had set this event up for students to participate in, as their first event serving Englewood community this year. However, this event was made more special because there were survivors that have won the battle against breast cancer. Also, ones who had lost loved ones with their name written on a pink paper on their shirt as a reminder. As to represent Englewood, students and staff wore blue to show their support and to be recognized, walking with over 50,000 race participates.

“I’ve been to 'Women for a cure' all four years and every time before the gun is shot and the race starts. I hear this song named “Hope” and it amps me up and brings such meaning to the race." - Michael Gabriel
